Colorado Photographer

Simply put I love

Unfiltered Photography

Heather Gabel is a Colorado Springs / Denver City -based photographer and art director with a focus on family portraits, families with special needs photography, animal, landscape, abstract, black & white, editorial, and commercial projects. They’ve been capturing the essence of the city and those who call it home since 2012 when they found out their own child was born with special needs, but holding on to the persistent urge to tell a story. Images are their medium of choice.

Philosophy

Heather believes photos are metaphors, making the abstract concrete and mystifying the mundane. They believe photography is a conversation between the photographer, the subject, and those who will view these images for years to come.

Current Project

Life Through My Eyes Photography has taken a curious, narrative-driven lens to showcase the myriad of people who call Colorado Springs & Denver home.

“As a child, I’d pour over family photo and admiring the styles and how they’d capture the moment. Now, I get to add to our collective albums, and our collective memories.”

My Story

I’m a mother, entrepreneur, advocate, health care worker and founder of “Life Through My Eyes” photography. It is my goal to help woman build a thriving business that gives them more time with their loved ones.

Advocacy is very close to my heart. As the mother of a medically complex child with special needs I can not express enough how important it is to give our children a voice.

I love all things skincare, haircare, makeup, fashion, fitness, photography, outdoors, and food! You will find many of my favorite items throughout my platforms that I enjoy sharing with others.

Most importantly, it is my son who gives me this drive and inspiration. It is my family that has continued to be this strength. And though my journey has not always been rainbows and sunshine I continue to look forward with hope for the future.
